Steve Penn

Prior to opening his own creative consultancy PENN LLC in 2011, Steve had provided the creative voice and vision for the award-winning Minneapolis-based agency Penn Garritano he founded in 1999. In December 2010 he sold his interest in the agency to pursue his first passion: writing.

Steve is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, a well-traveled copywriter and seasoned creative director having served as Senior Vice President, Creative Director with Rapp Collins Worldwide and as Senior Vice President of Colle + McVoy for five years before that. During his 30-year career, he has created and managed award-winning marketing and loyalty programs for major global brands including Pfizer, IBM, AT&T, American Express, the United States Post Office, the Department of Defense, 3M and National Geographic to name but a few. Steve counts as his proudest accomplishment the original launch of The GM Card for General Motors, which remains to this day the largest and most successful credit card program ever introduced in North America.

With more than 120 awards under his belt, Steve is always eager to share his knowledge and has been a speaker in the United States, Canada and Europe lecturing on a variety of branding, sales and marketing topics.
